The 2025 espnW: Women + Sports Summit in Ojai, CA, served as an inspiring highlight for women athletes and for Toyota. Toyota proudly celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Toyota Everyday Heroes program, which recognizes girls and women making meaningful contributions in sports. Each honoree received a $15,000 award in appreciation of their work and impact.
The 10th Class of Toyota Everyday Heroes
Toyota ambassador Jess Sims attended the summit to present awards during the espnW: Women + Sport Summit, an influential event now in its 13th year. Throughout the three-day gathering, Toyota showcased the 2026 RAV4, the 2025 Toyota 4Runner, and most importantly, the outstanding girls and women selected as Toyota Everyday Heroes. The announcement brought energy and inspiration to the event.
“Toyota is proud to honor Jessica Carter of HER Sports and Amberly Klam of Texas Fury as the 2025 Everyday Heroes for their outstanding work using sports to create opportunities and empowerment within their communities,” said MJ Kroll, senior manager of media at Toyota Motor North America.
Jessica Carter, a former college basketball player from Virginia, founded HER Sports to help girls in her community gain access to the benefits of athletics. Her mission centers on giving every girl an equal chance to succeed. HER Sports now supports about 400 girls through four key programs.
Amberly Klam was also recognized as part of this year’s Everyday Heroes class. She created the Texas Fury flag football organization and continues to encourage girls to get involved in the fast-growing sport. Inspired by her daughter Ashlea’s enthusiasm for flag football, Klam aims to provide more opportunities for girls who want to participate.
Toyota was grateful to once again join the espnW Women + Sport Summit and to share some of its newest innovations with attendees. The event was memorable for both the athletes and the company, and Toyota looks forward to continuing its involvement in espnW efforts that promote empowerment through sports.
