What's New for the 2023 Toyota bZ4X?
The Toyota bZ4X is the second generation of the original bZ4 concept. It is designed with a bold look and is equipped with many features for a reasonable price. The vehicle has been available since October 2022, expanding Toyota's lineup, which now includes 15 model variants. The bZ4X is perfect for urban driving thanks to its compact frame and adequate power from its electric engine.
What's New for the 2023 Toyota bZ4X?
The bZ4X arrives this fall as one of the many electric SUVs jockeying for consumer dollars. It sits near the bottom of the class regarding range and standard features. The base model has a 204-mile range, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The bZ4X has only one common driver assistance feature and a small 8.0-inch infotainment screen. On the upside, it has quick acceleration and responsive steering. The bZ4X also has an upscale interior with quality materials and an above-average cargo area that can fit a baby grand piano.

Trims & Features
The 2023 Toyota bZ4X will be available in three different trims: "Launch Edition," "XLE," and "bZ Limited."
The Launch Edition trim comes with an exclusive interior and exterior color and various other upgraded features. The Launch Edition also comes with unique emblems and a serialized badge.
The XLE and Limited trims have unique features as well. For example, both trims come with a power rear liftgate, but the Limited frame has it on all models while the XLE only has it on select models. The Limited trim also has heated front seats, while those are optional on the XLE trim.
Horsepower
The all-wheel drive bZ4X is powered by a pair of electric motors, one on each axle, producing a combined 214 horsepower. The standard front-wheel drive option has 201 horsepower, but comes with a selectable AWD option using a second motor on the rear axle. Toyota estimates the car will do 0-60 mph in 6.9 seconds when equipped with front-wheel drive, or 6.1 seconds when equipped with AWD; for context, the front-drive version of this vehicle's platform sibling, the RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid crossover SUV, does 0-60 in 6.2 seconds.
Furthermore, it is said that the range will be between 200-250 miles between charges, and the high-output charger can get you back up to 80% range in just under an hour.Ā
Safety
When Toyota began developing the bZ4X, it wanted a vehicle that would be safe in every situation. Toyota developed the e-TNGA platform with an integrated, rigid battery pack to accomplish this. This provides several safety and handling benefits to the vehicle. When it comes to safety, the bZ4X is at its best. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has awarded the bZ4X with a 5-star rating in front and side crash tests, as well as rollover tests. The bZ4X was also awarded the highest possible rating in front and side crash evaluations by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
