2022 Toyota Tundra

What's New For the 2022 Toyota Tundra?

Toyota's legendary full-size pickup truck has been fully redesigned for 2022. It receives a long list of big improvements. While a new rear suspension enhances handling, a standard twin-turbo V6 engine takes fuel efficiency and performance to the next level. Of course, longtime Tundra fans will immediately notice its more striking exterior styling. Several new features are available, including the largest infotainment display in the segment.

2022 Tundra Trims & Features

Toyota offers the new Tundra in six trim levels. The base SR trim is perfect for drivers who need an everyday workhorse. Among its standard features include an 8.0-inch multimedia touchscreen with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a Smart Key System, and an aluminum-reinforced composite bed.

Featuring 18-inch aluminum wheels, the SR5 trim has an even more stylish look. It also adds an integrated trailer brake controller, tow/haul modes, and a power rear window.

Drivers seeking more luxury will love the Tundra Limited. While exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels bolster the truck's curb appeal, SofTex-trimmed seats give the cabin a more upscale feel. Another big upgrade is the stunning 14.0-inch multimedia touchscreen.

The Platinum trim comes equipped with its own signature wheels and a special grille. Interior upgrades consist of a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, leather upholstery, and a panoramic sunroof.

If you want to further stand out from the crowd, check out the Tundra 1794 Edition. It boasts some exclusive exterior treatments, including a chrome-finished grille. On the inside, American walnut wood-grain trim adds an elegant touch.

In terms of off-road capabilities, the TRD Pro trim sits atop the lineup. Rugged upgrades, such as a Fox off-road suspension and a front skid plate, prepare you to face more challenging terrain. Meanwhile, music fans will love the 12-speaker JBL premium sound system.

2022 Toyota Tundra Horsepower

A new twin-turbo i-FORCE V6 engine with 389 horsepower comes standard. This is enough muscle for you to tow up to 12,000 pounds. Toyota's new 10-speed automatic transmission helps you to harness all the power. For the first time, the Tundra welcomes an optional i-FORCE Max hybrid engine into the lineup. It cranks out a monstrous 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque.

Toyota Tundra Safety

The new Tundra puts a major emphasis on passenger safety. Several driver-assist technologies come with the standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 system, including automatic emergency braking and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist.
