2021 Toyota Tacoma Exterior

What's New For the 2021 Toyota Tacoma?

The Tacoma is produced in two new trim levels in 2021: the Trail Special Edition and the Nightshade Edition. The Trail Special Edition, as the name indicates, comes with more off-road amenities to build on the Tacoma's already impressive off-road credentials. The latest Tacoma is also now available in a Nightshade Edition that features black trim accents for a unique color scheme. The Tacoma otherwise remains primarily the same with several standard features, including some of the most advanced safety aids in its class. The Tacoma is produced in six trims with available add-on amenities and various bed lengths to create just the right Tacoma for your work and adventure needs.

What Features Are Available for 2021?

The SR is the first of six Tacoma trims in 2021. With this trim level, you'll get 16-inch steel wheels and a back window that slides. The side mirrors are heated and power-adjustable. The bed has a composite finish and tie-downs. The interior includes cloth-finished, manually-adjustable seats. The base trim provides connectivity with a seven-inch infotainment display, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a seven-inch touchscreen display. WiFi is also standard, and you'll get plenty of advanced safety aids. The SR5 adds to that list with an extended wheelbase option. Chrome accents are added to the exterior. Alloy wheels are standard, and the SR5 comes with a larger eight-inch touchscreen.

The TRD Sport follows with 17-inch wheels, a hood scoop, and a 120V power outlet in the cargo bed. The TRD Off-Road has the same amenities plus a chrome-accented rear bumper. It also gets multiple terrain settings for optimal performance and special off-road traction. A sunroof, heated seats, and dual-zone climate control are available through packages. The Limited is offered in two-wheel or four-wheel drive. It also has larger 18-inch wheels and trim-specific tires. The TRD Pro tops the list with standard four-wheel drive, a blacked-out grille, and LED lights. It also has a taller ride height and a custom exhaust system.

How Well Does the 2021 Tacoma Perform?

Several engines are available for the 2021 Tacoma. The standard engine is a four-cylinder with a power output of nearly 160 HP. This engine generates an impressive 180 LB-FT in torque, which is plenty for your work and towing needs. It comes with a six-speed automatic. The next engine, available on the SR5 and up, is a V6 with a 3.5L displacement. It creates 278 HP and 265 LB-FT in torque. The six-speed transmission is standard with rear-wheel drive, but the four-wheel drive versions have a manual option.

Toyota Tacoma Safety at the Forefront
