What's New For the 2021 Toyota Prius?
Across the board, 2021 brings some notable changes to all trims of the Toyota Prius. The lineup also expands in 2021 with the addition of a new model called the 2020 Edition. The base trim gets more standard safety equipment to help you avoid accidents on the road. You'll also find a more tech-savvy cabin in store for the Prius in 2021, which now takes Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and Apple CarPlay along for the ride. The Prius also excels in performance this year with all-wheel drive now optional on select trim levels.
2021 Prius Trims and Features
The 2021 Prius lineup has five trims, including the new 2020 Edition. The entry-level trim is the L Eco. With this trim, you can look forward to a nice assortment of standard features, including a seven-inch infotainment display with Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and smartphone pairing. You'll get more than 50 cubic feet of storage capacity when the back seats are folded flat. The second trim, which is the LE, gets some more advanced safety technology in addition to what the base trim offers, including parking sensors. The XLE has larger five-spoke 17-inch wheels. Heated seats made of simulated leather are standard, along with multi-way adjustable front seats. The XLE offers wireless charging capabilities as well. Black wheels, headlight accents, and custom floor mats distinguish the 2020 Edition. At the top-level trim, the Limited has a larger 11.6-inch touchscreen and a premium JBL sound system.

2021 Toyota Prius Horsepower
All trims are configured with the same mechanical system, a 1.8-liter gasoline engine and electric motor combination that generates over 120 HP. Front-wheel drive is the drivetrain for most Prius trims, although the LE and XLE can be equipped with all-wheel drive (AWD-e) for additional traction and improved handling. An automatic transmission is standard for the 2021 Toyota Prius.
Toyota Prius Safety
Many advanced safety aids are standard on the Prius in 2021, including automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane departure warning for the highway. Road sign assist comes offered as part of the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 and is standard on all trims. Parking sensors and an automated parking system are additional safety features on the top trims.
